We had two major considerations when putting together the infrastructure requirements to support the AD Group’s various businesses: 

• Our business activities involve a constant flow of equipment, in and out of our Engineering Centres, and into and out of Customer locations ..... this is a unique requirement, and we made sure that we organised the layout of our Operational Centres to cater for it
 
• More than most logistics operations there has to be an extremely strong information link between our Customer facing team, and our Logistics team. So we built our systems so that each team could see realtime all through the day what was going on, what has still got to done, and what has been completed with an instant feedback on any issues found 

 The combination of our 2 UK Warehouses in Warrington and Reading, with the support of our European partners, means we have do have enough space, and that space is configured so that we can handle all form factors of products… from memory simms, to laptops, to 200 kg printers, to 70in TFT screens, to marketing collateral, and exhibition equipment AND cater for lots of flow around the buildings as equipment progresses rapidly through the various inbound and outbound process steps. 

Using our own vehicle fleet of tail-lift enabled 3.5tonne Mercedes Sprinter vehicles adds tremendously to our ability to plan and offer real service to our customers. Our Driver/ Engineers are capable of most equipment set-up and breakdown requirements…and the fact that their delivery paperwork carries forward the details generated from our loan management system with the contact details of a range of different people and plenty of information about where the equipment is located, just means that there is a far higher success rate that the equipment handover actually happens successfully.

 The very tight system integration of our Logistics operations with our customer facing teams is fundamental to how we operate. We organise our activity based on meeting customer needs as the pre-eminent requirement, with lots of attention paid to making sure that everything that needs to happen to-day is assigned early and worked on to meet the deadline that has been set.
